“La Merce” is one of the biggest annual festivals of Spain in Barcelona (the largest street party) is held in September and lasts about 4-5 days. If you happen to travel to Barcelona during this time, do not hire a car as the streets are filled with Giant Parades, Fire Runs (Correfoc – Powerful Sparkler Fireworks are sprayed into the crowds), Human Towers, and projection show in evenings on their dedicated squares.

 

One of the best things to notice is that almost entire Barcelona is on-street and filled with large crowds. La Merce will engage any sort of travelers due to its music, street performances, dramas across varied venues in the city. (Important Tip – It would be next to impossible to find a taxi back home so please be assured to walk enough).
