Zadar is an artistic and biggest metropolis city in northern Dalmatia and excellently recognized for its 2 installations – The Sea Organ and The Sun Salutation.

Zadar boasts a color palette with its white pedestrian-only marble streets of the old town perfect for a stroll, lush green pine, and olive groves, aquamarine waters, and red thatched roofs making it an extraordinary place to visit and loved by its visitors.

The world’s smallest cathedral – The Church of the Holy Cross lies in Nin which can be easily traveled to from Zadar.

The symbolic icon of the city is a famous example of early medieval Croatian architecture which is famed for its unique circular form and walls rising out of a plaza scattered with Roman forums and ruins. It serves as a preferred venue for music event due to its superb acoustics.

The roman catholic cathedral of Zadar is the largest church of Dalmatia which initially begun with the Byzantines and was rebuilt in later centuries. It holds a fine façade with beautiful windows with a top in Gothic Style and the lower one in Romanesque style. The impressive bell tower can be climbed for perfect views of the city.

Exploring extravagant old city walls and gates with the oldest sections built by the Romans and other sections by the Venetians are a must to be explored when you visit Zadar. The city’s well-preserved remaining four gates are impressive and splendid to view and explore and each gate has a name such as Land Gate, Sea Gate, Bridge Gate & Rocco Gate.

Sea Organ is an intriguing art installation wherein a giant musical instrument is played by the movement of waves as there are underwater pipes set below the marble steps and each tube plays a different tone and together, they create a fantastic soundtrack played by the waves.

Another must-see experience is “Greetings to the Sun” a circular installation consisting of 300 multi-layered glass plates at the same level in the shape of an amphitheater surrounded by stone blocks showcasing solar system planets and their orbits.

Both these art attractions are so unique and extraordinary which are a must-visit when you visit Zadar.
