Oudtshoorn is a great day excursion done from George situated in Klein Karoo at a distance of about 55 km. Oudtshoorn is home to the world-famous ostrich farm and Cango caves.

The impressive Cango caves are built of uneven stalactites and stalagmites with lightning effects to enhance its beauty for its viewers. These dark caverns of limestone formations showcase a wide variety of natural colours which is a beautiful sight to behold.
There are daily guided tours to this natural wonder and also bifurcated between heritage tours and adventure tours with the latter is getting deeper into the caves involving steep climbing.
Ostrich farms are the largest in the world here giving its visitors a unique chance to come in close encounters with these exotic species. Ostrich eggs which weigh about 1-2 kgs are kept on display for taking pictures beside them or standing on them (note - those are unfertilized eggs). One can even ride an ostrich but make sure you don’t fall as it's one of the difficult things to do.
Tourists can experience feeding the ostrich, hugging the female ostrich, receiving a neck massage from the ostrich, learning about the farming practices and their history. There are guided tours for experiencing these unique birds and worth a visit.
Initially, the farm was the place where the crocodiles were bred and the Cango crocodile farm was the first South Africa crocodile show farm. The uniqueness of this place is that the people and staff work here in saving and conserving animals from getting extinct at the best they can and hence started accommodating other species along with the crocodiles.
Cango Wildlife Ranch houses a large crocodilian population, endangered cheetahs, snake park, and much more. Visitors can experience close encounters with the wild cats and animals by clicking pictures beside them, feeding them, and even can experience croc cage diving with their Nile crocodiles (shut during winters).
Cheetah Land is a famous attraction to spot the world’s greatest cats like the Cheetah, African leopard, White Bengal Tiger, mighty White lion in their natural surroundings. Cango ranch also has various activities to entertain kids in their kid zone area as well as restaurants and cafes to suit your taste bud offering relaxation.
