Antalya is often termed as the “Pearl of Mediterranean” is 2nd most enchanting city of Turkey and the most visited tourist destination for its plethora of things to offer. The city of Antalya is beautifully natural and modern, every part of this city has something to offer with places to go and idyllic coastal towns to stay.

 

Antalya is also known for its delicious cuisine with local flavours which is enjoyable as it provides different tastes from kebabs to side dishes. Antalya offers its tourists many unique experiences for an exciting memorable vacation.

Antalya Aquarium is a magnificent aquarium complex that is inspirational, educational, and entertaining at the same time. It offers 40 thematic aquariums, the world’s biggest tunnel aquarium, snow world & Ice museum, tropical reptile house with its colourful species, sailing the seas in its multi-dimensional movie technology of Ocean ride.

 

The main tank of the aquarium is filled with the clearest water and decorated with submarine wrecks, ships, and planes. There is also an option of swimming with the sharks and rays and it's completely safe.  Every tourist would enjoy this aquarium but it would be more enjoyable for families as kids would love spending time here.

 

Kaleici is the historical city centre of Antalya with its bustling narrow streets, ancient port, and historical houses with a perfect blend of old and new. Travelers can explore the historic sites on foot as certain streets are only pedestrian ones.

Most of the historical houses in Kaleici have been restored and now turned into hotels, bars, and shops. Evenings in this city centre are lively with entertaining live music on streets which can be enjoyed sipping a drink, dancing in pubs and dining at seafront restaurants.

 

Old Harbour is a postcard-perfect place shining over the Mediterranean with its boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and yachts. It’s a perfect place to watch the mesmerizing sunset while relaxing at the cafes or can take up exotic boat rides.

 

Hadrian's Gate is a three-arched marble gateway with imposing towers depicting the most beautiful ancient works of art in Antalya and is one of the main dramatic entrance gates into the Kaleici town. This monumental gate is a symbol of harmony and a mixture of artifacts from the civilizations running through the ages. This gate gives its tourists an old-world ambiance to admire.

 

Konyaalti Beach is a famed beach for both locals and foreigners with mountains as its backdrop which is very close to the town centre. It’s a long beach wherein you can enjoy the sun and sea, can ride a bicycle on the coast, enjoy delicious food and drinks at the restaurants and cafes lying at the palm tree-lined promenade behind the beach. Tourists can rent sunbeds and umbrellas to relax on the beach and can even swim in the sea thus a relaxing spot to spend half-day.

 

The limestone countryside outside the city of Antalya is rich in its natural abundance of waterfalls, karst springs, and sinkholes.

 

The most famous ones are the Dudenbasi – a cascade of waterfalls flowing down a narrow gorge, Kirkgoz and Pinarbasi both having springs and sinkholes that are commendable.

 

People are permitted to swim in the safes zones however please note that the water is too cold to swim even during summers. It’s a great spot to explore if you want a break from historical attractions.

 

 

Karain cave was initially inhabited by the pre-historic man of the Paleolithic eras. The cave has excavations belonging to the Neolithic era which are displayed in the forms of teeth and bones. Karain Cave is about 27kms away from Antalya and can be combined with Karst springs as a day excursion and it’s preferable to visit during weekdays to avoid huge crowds.

 

Koprulu Canyon is located within a fertile valley covered with dense plants is a natural sight to capture. Koprulu Canyon national park is one of the top destinations in turkey for white water rafting amidst its green-blue waters flowing from the Koprulu River.

 

Tourists can admire Roman engineering from the depicting examples of the Roman Bridges built over the canyon. This national park is rich in its abundant flora and fauna. It serves as a great spot for photographers who love to capture natural sights and for adventure junkies to indulge in hiking, camping, and rafting.
